Paris in the fall: 6 of the best things you can do and why this is the best time to visit

A year ago my husband and I decided to visit Paris for the first time in the fall. Believe me when I tell you there is no other time in the year that will feel the same way late September early October felt. The breeze, the fall colors, the lattes and energy all around was just perfection. I’d like to share with you exactly what we did just in case you are planning your next fall trip to be in Paris!

Lunch at a pretty patio

The day we arrived was a bit brutal. We were jet lagged, I had severe motion sickness and we were running on very little sleep but it only took a delicious lunch at a gorgeous little patio across our hotel made it ALL better! We had our first meal at La Porte Montmartre and it did not disappoint!  We ordered a comfort meal, pizza with a Diet Coke and let me tell you, it was beyond delicious, it just hit different! Everything tastes different and better there, even the basics! The weather was amazing and the views were everything I expected from Paris.

Yes, we did a tour bus

As I mentioned, because we were tired, jet lagged and running on low energy we decided to hop on a tour bus. I loved this so much because, first of all, the wind and weather were perfection and it allowed us to get some sun to heal and gain some energy from the natural light. It allowed us to see the main attractions and were able to get off where we wanted to. Of course we got off at the Eiffel Tower to see it up close! It was a dream come true. We got some delicious chocolate crepes around the area and walked to do some exploring while we waited for our Seine River cruise.

The most romantic Seine River Night Cruise

I must say this was my favorite part from our visit to Paris. The whole ride was beautiful, we got to see all the gorgeous bridges and architecture of the buildings around us. I remember sitting there with my husband, his arm around me, I just could not believe I was there, living that moment. Just when I thought it couldn’t had gotten better, we see it! We see the first sparkles go off. The Eiffel Tower sparkling away right in front of our eyes.

An evening in Montmartre

We took a train to Montmartre and had no idea we were about to experience one of the most beautiful, romantic and exquisite nights of our lives. After climbing what felt like one hundred million steps, there we were, it was so lively and vibrant. A little gelato place got in our way so we had to grab some and decided to sit in front of a huge wall of beautiful art. The flowers all over the walls, the hanging warm lights from the streets and the eye catching energy of the people, I was so amazed at it all. We found a charming little restaurant where we ate and talked for hours with views to all the artists stationed on the streets painting people. The lighting was stunning as the sun was setting and the food was super tasty. We ordered a charcuterie board, lattes and pastas. After the most perfect diner we went ahead and walked towards a wall of Love Locks, and of course we had to add ours while a men sang and played his guitar in the background. All this evening turned into a core memory I often think about randomly.

Walked through the Tuileries Gardens

If you are looking to soak up all the fall vibes, walking through these gardens is a must! I remember getting there and thinking the grass felt like a big fluffy pillow and being surrounded by the most perfect palace was so unreal. I could see people napping, reading and relaxing by the gorgeous, full and fluffy bushes. As we walked, we came across snack bars and lots of beautiful sitting areas. My favorite was sitting by an endless hallway of super tall orange trees, it was magical!

Dinner at Saveur Du Sichuan

When we think of Paris this place will always pop up first in our minds! It was our last dinner there and we absolutely fell in love with it! How did we find this place you may ask? We were just walking the streets on our way to our stay and saw this cute, tiny and charming little place with Asian food and we instantly knew we had to try it! The place was crowded but in a good way, it was cozy and it smelled delicious. We ordered a pot for two. When I tell you it was so delicious I couldn’t think of anything like it, believe me! My husband and I loved it soo much, we often wish we could go back to that little, tiny, crowded restaurant!

I believe fall was the most perfect season to visit Paris because the weather was flawless, the crowds were small, the lattes and espressos hit different, oh, and the colors were glorious.
